Summary:
The Behavioral Health Counselor provides counseling services to individuals, families, and groups facing behavioral health challenges. They are responsible for assessing clients' needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to promote mental health and well-being. The Behavioral Health Counselor is also responsible for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health, emotional well-being, and behavioral concerns.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs, goals, and preferences.
3. Implement evidence-based counseling techniques to address clients' behavioral health issues.
4. Provide crisis intervention services to clients experiencing immediate mental health concerns.
5. Facilitate individual, family, and group counseling sessions to enhance clients' coping skills and resilience.
6. Collaborate with other professionals, such as psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to coordinate integrated care plans.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to ethical guidelines.
8. Monitor clients' progress throughout the counseling process and make appropriate adjustments to treatment plans.
9. Provide education and support to clients' families, promoting their involvement in the therapeutic process.
10. Stay informed about the latest research, best practices, and emerging trends in behavioral health counseling.
11. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance counseling skills.
12. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards related to counseling practice.
Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
2. Current licensure or certification as a Behavioral Health Counselor (e.g., Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor).
3. Minimum of [X] years of experience in providing counseling services to individuals with behavioral health concerns.
